Starsand Island catch 2 king fish: Fast Route Guide

If your goal is to catch two Fish Kings quickly, start with Paddlefish and Swordfish. Their broad conditions make them more practical than the night-only or region-locked alternatives. Paddlefish can be found in a river near town, while Swordfish uses a daytime sea window in the Coral Sea.

Paddlefish is the strongest first target because it can be caught from the early game and does not require a special overseas route. The town waterfall is a useful starting point. Swordfish is the best second target when you can reach the Coral Sea and bring Meat bait.

Before leaving for a King Fish spot, prepare the correct bait and check the in-game clock. A valid location is not enough if the fish is outside its seasonal or hourly window. Use the fishing trip as a planned route rather than relying on random casts.

For Swordfish, travel to the Coral Sea and fish during daylight. For Paddlefish, use a nearby river and remain within the 6:00 AM–10:00 PM window. If you are targeting a night fish instead, keep the trip short so you still have time to cast before 2:00 AM.

The six known Fish Kings use different combinations of season, habitat, time, bait, and weather. The table below separates the two recommended targets from the alternatives so you can adapt your route when the current season does not support Paddlefish.

Arapaima is found in the river north of the farm near the wooden bridge leading toward Green Pasture Ranch. Glowfish requires an autumn trip into Dreamfall Garden in the Moonlit Forest and is caught near a waterfall, including the area behind it. Long-barbelled dragofish and Megamouth shark are sea fish with late-night windows, while Swordfish remains a daytime option.

Alternative Two-Fish Combinations

If Paddlefish is unavailable because it is not spring or winter, combine Swordfish with an all-season night fish. Long-barbelled dragofish and Megamouth shark both require Meat and remain available throughout the year, but their 8:00 PM–2:00 AM schedule demands more precise timing.

A smooth route begins with the fish that requires the least travel. Catch Paddlefish near town, then use the remaining day for Swordfish if the season and clock line up. If the timing is poor, return home, prepare the next bait cycle, and schedule the sea trip for the following suitable day.

Night fishing requires a different rhythm. For Arapaima, Glowfish, Long-barbelled dragofish, or Megamouth shark, reach the area before midnight and begin casting immediately. A teleporter placed on or near a boat can shorten return trips, but the route still depends on reaching the correct sea or inland area.

Troubleshooting by Failure Point

• No bites at the river: Confirm that the season is spring or winter for Paddlefish, or summer/autumn for Arapaima.
• Swordfish is unavailable: Check that you are fishing in the Coral Sea rather than another sea region.
• Night fish disappears: Start earlier and cast before 2:00 AM; the late window is easy to miss after travel.
• The trip feels too slow: Use the dock and boat route for sea areas, then consider a teleporter setup for repeated attempts.
• Bait seems ineffective: Match bait to the target instead of using a general-purpose selection.

Catching two Fish Kings is best handled as a collection milestone rather than a single fishing session. Record each successful catch, note the season and location that worked, and avoid spending a full day on a target whose window has already closed.

For the shortest reliable attempt, use Paddlefish first when the season allows it, then schedule Swordfish in the Coral Sea. If Paddlefish is out of season, Swordfish plus one of the all-season sea Kings provides a flexible alternative, provided you can fish at night.
